Here are some of the
most Frequently Asked Questions we receive:
(Obviously, if you have questions not addressed here, please call
us or send an email or text. We want to answer all of your questions!)
o
Who is
the Mom of the puppies?
o
The mom of the current puppies,
is Penny. She is a Moyen/Klein poodle who weighs about 24 pounds and lives in our home.
o
How big
will the puppies be when they grow up?
o This is Penny and Charlie's first litter together. By adding their weight, and dividing by 2, we should expect the puppies to be in the 20-30 pound range. For more information, see our menu tab on size, or click here.
o
When were
the puppies born?
o
Penny’s puppies were born on July 11, 2022 .
o
Who is
the Dad of the puppies?
o
The Dad is Charlie. He is an F1 mini-Goldendoodle and is a trusted and well-mannered stud. Charlie weighs about 30 pounds.
o
When will
we be able to take our puppy home?
o
We expect our puppies will be ready for their
forever homes approximately 8 weeks after they were born. For Pennys's puppies, this will be approximately September 5th, 2022
o
Will my
husband/wife/spouse/child be allergic to them?
o
Because all allergies are different, we
certainly can’t guarantee safety from allergic reactions, but, typically,
Goldendoodles do not impact allergies. If this is a definite concern for you,
we suggest scheduling a time to come and visit the puppies and see if they
cause you any concern.
o
Will they
shed?
o
Goldendoodles are “low to no” shed dogs.
Typically, golden retrievers shed profusely, and that is why the breeding of a
golden retriever to a poodle – historically a non-shedding dog – yields such
great results.
o
What
guarantees come with the puppies?
o
We offer an initial health guarantee and a 2
year genetic guarantee.
o
How much
do they cost?
o
Why do I
have to pay a deposit?
o
Bringing a puppy into your family is a deeply
personal and emotional decision. Puppies/dogs can bring such warmth and love to
a family. We find that we frequently have more interest in our puppies than we
have puppies to offer. Our deposit policy is just a way for us to determine who
is truly ready for the commitment and who is still in the research mode. There
is nothing wrong with thorough research, but we would hate to turn away a
family when someone else is still looking. The deposit locks you into the puppy
you select and we will not show that puppy to anyone else.
o
Will the
puppy get along with my other dog/cat/pet?
o
We are asked this question frequently. In
reality, only you, as the owner of the other pet, can answer this question.
Puppies, by nature, are very inquisitive and active pets. If your existing pet
is very sedentary, a puppy might be overwhelming for them. Goldendoodles are
friendly and eager to please, but many more mature dogs can feel threatened by
the new “kid” on the block. Please consider this before selecting your puppy.
o
What
forms of payment will you accept?
o
We accept cash, Venmo, and PayPal. (Any and all
transaction fees associated with using PayPal will be the responsibility of the
purchaser)
o
Can I visit
my puppy before I take him/her home?
o
We will do everything we can to allow you to
watch your puppy during the weaning process. Due to difficult scheduling, we
usually rely on pictures and videos, posted frequently, to watch their
development.
o
When can
I see the puppies "up close and personal"?
o
We will be happy to work with you to schedule a
30 minute visit so you can play with the puppies and pick out which one you
would love to have as part of your family. Except for special exceptions, most
of our appointments will be on the weekends - this helps make it easiest for
everyone. Please feel free to call, text, or email us with a request for a
viewing appointment.
