Puppies are 4 Weeks Old Today! (4/27/23)

Hunny's medium-sized F1Goldendoodle puppies turn 4 weeks-old today. That means we will start the weaning process soon and help them get ready for you to meet them!

I woke them up from a nap this morning... That makes me wonder: "If an animal (or me) tends to sleep all day long, is there a different definition of "Nap"? Like: "second nap", "tea time nap", mid-to-late morning nap"? Hmmmmmm...

Anyway, here are a couple of pictures from this morning: (Remember, Miss Purple is a girl and the others are all boys - Black, Green, Red, Yellow, Orange)

New Puppies! New Puppies! (4/24)

This is the first announcement of our newest litter of puppies, so don't worry, you haven't missed anything.

I was expecting to announce a litter of Biscuit's mini-goldendoodles right around now, but that is not the case. Due to an unexpected situation, Biscuit is not going to be bred this time around. Feel free to reach out to me, and I'll give you more info about the potential timing of Biscuit's next litter, but here is Hunny's first litter!!!! Hunny weighs about 70-75 pounds, although she is sensitive about her weight, and she does NOT look that big at all. I expect her puppies will grow to about 40-45 pounds - more of a "medium" than  "mini".

Hunny is an AKC Golden Retriever. Hunny lives in the Fort Wayne area with the daughter of a friend of mine from High School. (That's a long story...) Samantha (Hunny's human), has been training and caring for Hunny for the past couple of years, as we waited for Hunny to mature enough to have puppies.

"Hunny" is named after a famous "bear of very little brains" and his favorite food.

Hunny, the dog, is a wonderful dog with a big heart and a very loving demeanor toward everyone she meets - which is the same as everyone she sees, and the same as everyone she hopes will pet her.  To her, there are only two groups of people - those who are petting her right now, and those who will pet her when this person's arm gets tired.

From 2 years ago, when Hunny first moved in with her Human

Hunny and her bestest dog friend, "Winston"

The dad of the puppies, is Toby, an AKC Miniature Poodle, and a frequent Dad of our puppies. He is just as friendly as Hunny, and we have loved having him as one of our contract studs. Toby weighs about 18 pounds and is so adorable and well mannered.

The puppies were born on Thursday March 30th, and are, today, 3 1/2 weeks old. They should be ready to go to their new homes just before, or just after, Memorial Weekend. Some people will want a puppy at home over a long weekend for extra time to train, and some people will ask if they can pick their puppy up after Memorial Day so they don't have to deal with a new puppy on vacation. Either time is fine with me.

Before her puppies were born, Hunny was fascinated by our Bernedoodle puppies. The way she loved to play with them assured me she would be a great mom - and she is!

Look how small her brand new puppies are!

I'll be taking some good individual puppy pictures soon, but here are some group photos from today:

There are 5 boys in the litter, and just one girl. Miss Purple (collar) is the one girl.

Mr. Black telling Mr. Yellow a secret

Miss Purple telling Mr. Red a joke - or boring him with a long story

What puppies do when they aren't eating - they make a pile and sleep

Mr. Green wants to be the center of attention.

More pictures and fun coming soon!

There are 5 boys and 1 girl born on March 30, 2023 and will be ready to go to their new families by Memorial Weekend. Due to higher demand, the girl ("Miss Purple") is available for $1,250 and the boys are being offered at $1,000.

A $250 deposit holds your position in the selection and reservation. Somewhere around 5-6 weeks of age, we will have people make their selections in the order of deposits received. That gives us all a chance to see more of their personalities before identifying your new family friend!

The remaining balance will be due at or before final pickup.
