Time for a Nap

This morning, after Stella fed her 3 day old puppies a good hearty breakfast, they all decided to take a nap - I'm jealous! There is nothing like a good nap after breakfast.. but I digress.

Anyway, here are the little bundles of cuteness.

As always, clicking on a picture will zoom it to full size.

Puppies Are Here!

Right on schedule, and just like the Vet said, we had 7 adorable puppies born yesterday, November 27th. Truly a day to be thankful! Wonderful mom, Stella, gave birth to 4 boys and 3 girls. They are all healthy and nursing just as we expected them to.It was a very fun day!

Here in the new Mom with the first 5 nursing.

It was fun to see the color thrown by the Dad, Bailey, who has just a hint of tan, and Stella with only a whisper of gold. We'll see how the color holds over the next few weeks. I wouldn't be surprised to see the color lighten up.

Stella is being a wonderful Mom and everything is going great!

Doodles at Bedtime

With Stella in our house, awaiting birth of the puppies, we now have two dogs to deal with at book reading / bedtime. Both Stella and Pupcake (our family dog) want to snuggle and read with us. We all got a little rambunctious last night.

That is Pupcake on the the right, and Stella in the middle, with Carson laughing on the left.

Puppies Are Coming!!

Yes, after quite a time off from "puppy raising" we will be having puppies in our house again! Our children are beyond excited!!

Our puppies are due to be born on Thanksgiving Day (November 27th, 2014) so they will be ready to go to their forever homes around the middle of January, 2015.

While it is sometimes nice to have puppies available in time for Christmas, this year's schedule will give people the opportunity to enjoy Christmas, and the gifts and special family time, without the confusion of having a new puppy too. Then, as things settle down again, our puppies will be ready to head to their homes - and your Holiday decorations should be safely stored away!

Our 2014 / 2015 puppies will be F1 English "Teddy Bear" Goldendoodles.

Here is what that means: our puppies will be 50% standard poodle (father) and 50% golden retriever (mom). However, instead of the traditional American "brown" retriever, we are using an English Cream Golden Retriever. You can click here, and scroll down just a little, to read the Wikipedia description of the English Cream Golden Retriever, but the short version is that Stella, our mommy dog, is slightly shorter and has rounder eyes. Stella is bred from the European (English) strain of Golden Retrievers, versus the American lines we are often more familiar with.

These English Goldendoodles are often called "Teddy Bear" Goldendoodles because of the adorable teddy bear look that is produced from breeding with those European lines.

The bottom line is that your new family member will be beautiful, loving, well mannered, and adorable - and that's a great combination!

We expect the puppies will grow to about 70 lbs. when fully grown. Some of them will have darker, more brown, colored fur, and some will be much more white. It's really hard to tell, at this stage, what their final color will be - and if they will have tight curly hair, or more loose curls. The Dad, Bailey, has a pretty tight curl with just a little brown in it.

The mom, Stella, has a little brown/gold color, but is much lighter than traditional, American Golden Retrievers.

Get in touch with us soon so we know you are interested. We have had people calling us for puppies regularly since our last litter - and that was over 2 years ago!

I'll post updates and pictures here as they are available, and also at our Facebook page (Link is above).
