Puppies at 4 Weeks of Age - Half Way There!

The puppies are now 4 weeks old. They are half-way to your house! When we let them go home, they will be Vet checked and fully up-to-date on their vaccines and de-worming.

First, a quick update for those who aren’t stalking this site daily:

Quick Details: The puppies are F1b Goldendoodles. Their Mom, Harlow, is an F1 Goldendoodle (half standard poodle and half golden retriever). Their Dad, Oliver, is an AKC registered standard poodle that we use for many of our litters. This makes the puppies (roughly) 3-parts poodle and 1-part golden retriever. This makes the puppies even less likely to shed or cause reactions with allergy-sensitive people

Both parents are about 45 pounds so we expect the puppies will grow to about that same size and be what we call, “medium”. They should be about 20” tall (at the shoulders) when grown. You can see more pictures of Harlow and Oliver on our “Mommy Dog” and “Daddy Dog” pages, respectively.

OK, on to the cuteness…

We have 4 girls available. The only boy of the litter went (snap) right away.

As for the following pictures, it can be tough to get the puppies to sit still – or wake up – long enough to get the perfect adorable shot. If you’re looking for a puppy, the best option is to contact me and let’s set up a time to come out and have you play with them. You won’t be disappointed.

Miss Green (ADOPTED)
When she's not sleeping - like she wants to do in this picture - she is a wonderful pup with a VERY curly coat. She is a very calm puppy and loves to be held and snuggled.

Miss Green has the curliest coat in the litter
Miss Black (AVAILABLE)
She is one of the first puppies to jump in and play with a toy - or to use her sisters' ears as toys. She is incredibly playful and fun. She has the darkest coat in the litter.

I expect her coat will stay this color and not get much lighter.
Miss Red (AVAILABLE)
Like Miss Black (above), Miss Red is always in the fray, playing with toys and with her siblings.
Whenever I walk by their area, she is up and following me as much as possible. She loves being with people. She is also the smallest in the litter.

Miss Red will have a wavy coat.

Mr. Blue (RESERVED): "Marvin"
Apart from his beautiful markings, Marvin has a wonderfully soft and curly coat. He loves to play but seems unsure of how to react to his 4 sisters. He likes to get a sense of the situation before committing to action. Once he engages, he loves to play and roll around with his siblings.

Very soft and wavy coat

Miss Purple (AVAILABLE)
Miss Purple, or "Potato" as my son calls her, is a true snuggler. She loves to be held and have her belly rubbed. She has a wavy coat that will lighten to a "toasted marshmallow" color and very pretty eyes.

The end of a busy day of being a puppy!!

From Puppies to Mini-Dogs

It only took a few days to "suddenly" switch from being little bundles of fur to actual mini-dogs playing and carrying on. They are always cute, but this stage is one of the best. They are fully functional with their legs, and they are starting to earnestly wrestle with each other as they learn what it is like to be a puppy.

I'll post more pictures latter today, but here is a video so you can see what I mean.

Harlow's Puppies 3-Weeks Old

Harlow’s puppies turn 3-weeks-old today! They are starting to wrestle with their siblings and are learning how to growl and yelp like a puppy. They are still tentative in their walking skills, but each day they learn more and more. I can hear them chirping and growling at each other all day long.

Whenever I look in on them, they look like they are trying to eat each other. It is all normal behavior for 3-week-old puppies – and absolutely adorable!

Our kids are away at Camp this week, so I’ll be spending extra time with the puppies. My daughter won’t be around to hug on them and snuggle with them, and my son won’t be playing with them and wondering when they will be ready to “fetch” with him.

But, don’t cry for me! I’ll endure the “punishment” somehow!  : - )

Before I get into the individual pictures, here's a quick video to show their current progress. Harlow starts out the video by watching over the puppies, and you can hear her at the end slurping down water like it's the last bowl she'll ever have!

And now, for the individual pictures you've been waiting for! All names are based upon the color of their collar. Some of these pictures are just a bit off from perfect focus - sorry. These little "squirmers" like to move!

First Up: Mr. Blue (RESERVED):

His main point of interest was trying to attack the stuffed bear behind him.

"I must get the bear!"
Straightened to face forward

Go for it!

Miss Black (Available):
She is adorable and playful, but she only wanted to sleep. I must remember to take pictures BEFORE they eat dinner, and not right after they eat!

Going...
Going.......
She's already dreaming...

This is like me on a Monday morning...

Miss GREEN (Available):
She currently shows the curliest coat. It's still pretty early to see what their final coats will be, however, her coat is noticeably "wavy-er" than the rest.

Miss Red (Available):
When I hear puppy "growling" noises, it is most usually Miss Red. She is the first to voice her every interest. This doesn't yet mean that she will grow to be a loud dog. She is just learning to fit in with her environment and she's learned that her "voice" is a tool.

"Hey! Who or what are you?"
"MOMMY! MOMMY!"
Miss Purple (Available):
This is the one my son calls "potato." I think it just looked like a potato when it was born. What other reason does a 13-year old boy need? My son is teaching her how to yawn when he scratches under her chin. She does love to snuggle!
