Here Are The Puppies!!

One week ago, Penny gave birth to 11 healthy puppies. That's right, our smallest Mommy dog produced the biggest litter we've ever had!

First an Update: Penny is a 22 pound Moyen/Klein standard poodle.  She is small in size and weight, but she does have longer legs than a Miniature Poodle. The Daddy dog is Billy who is about 30 pounds and is an F1 Mini-Goldendoodle. Their puppies are F1b mini Goldendoodles. This year (2019) is their second litter. The feedback we have received from last year's litter is that they are mostly between 25-30 pounds in size. We tell people they will grow to 25-35 pounds to be safe. We have more pictures of Penny and Billy on our Mommy Dogs and Daddy Dogs pages.

Back to the puppies! We have 11 puppies - 7 girls and 4 boys. As of today, we have 4 reserved. One family has requested a girl, and the other 3 have not specified boy/girl to me as yet. That means we have at least 1 boy left and a handful of girls too.

We will make selections in order of the reservations, and those selections are tentatively scheduled for April 14.

For your viewing experience, the boys have collar colors Red, Black, Orange, and Purple. The girls are: Brown, Light Blue, Dark Blue, White, Gray, Yellow, and Green. Over the course of the next few days, I'll get some individual pictures posted so you can better see the colors and faces. These pictures were a failed attempt to have the puppies all lined up in a row. Oh, well... they are still adorable!

Let's Take This to Eleven!

Late last night, Penny decided enough was enough. She began delivering her puppies. In spite of last week's X-ray showing 10 puppies, Penny out did our expectations and delivered 11 healthy puppies!

There are 7 girls and 4 boys! (My daughter is happier than my son!)

Penny is a small dog to start with, and having an "extra" puppy was a surprise, but not really shocking. As I looked over the shoulder of the Vet at the x-ray, they counted a number of times and I certainly couldn't see anything except shades of black, gray, and white. No worries!

We will closely monitor the weights of each puppy to make sure they are eating enough and gaining the expected weight. We expect to use puppy formula to augment Penny's feedings in order to ensure the Puppies get everything they need.

We'll have more detailed pictures and info once we put colored collars on the puppies, but here are some for now.

Enjoy!

What About Penny's Puppies from Last Year?

As you probably know, Penny is about to give birth to 10 puppies. Last year, almost exactly this week, Penny delivered 7 healthy puppies. Well, since we used the same Dad this year, Billy, I'm going to go out on alimb and suggest this year's puppies will look a lot like last year's. Sound fair?

I have had some people send me pictures of their puppies, so I'll show you those I can still find. The reports are that the puppies have grown to between 25-30 pounds.

Penny Has Ten!!

Yes, science has finally determined why Penny is so big and round. The X-ray shows she is carrying 10 puppies inside her little frame. 10!

We are less than a week before delivery, and it's going to be exciting!

The first three puppies have been reserved. If you are interested in more information, or reserving a puppy, please let me know.

Penny's Puppies - Going Fast!

Penny still has almost two weeks left to go before delivering her puppies. My wife is starting to wonder how she will make it! Penny has a SERIOUS waddle going on.

She wears a diaper because she has stopped caring where she is when she goes to the bathroom - and I can't blame her! She is such a gentle mommy...

Anyway, I also have to announce that the first THREE of Penny's puppies have now been reserved. We are scheduled for the X-Ray on Friday the 15th to get an exact count - my son thinks there might be 50 puppies in there - and then Penny is due to deliver a week later.

Stay Tuned!

Penny 2019 Update (3/2/19)

Well, this is going quickly! I just posted info regarding Penny's 2019 litter, and we already have two reservations for her puppies!!

The first reservation is from someone who first contacted me months and months ago. They are friends with a family who adopted one of Penny's puppies last year. They have been waiting to get on the list for months!

The second reservation is from someone who adopted one of Penny's puppies last year, and this time they want a brother/sister.

I guess that will tell you how special these puppies are - and how fast this litter will be chosen.

Please act soon if you are interested in one. We will find out confirmation of the litter size on March 15th and they are due to be born about a week later. We hope for 6 or 7 puppies... We'll see!
