A Little Help Please?!

Pupcake, our family dog, is much bigger than Penny, our family puppy. In spite of that, or because of that, Penny likes to tease Pupcake whenever she can.

Pupcake loves to play with Penny, and is usually the "alpha" dog with the toys, but sometimes Penny grabs the current toy and runs back into their kennel to play.

Pupcake will rarely go in after her - even though they sleep together in the same crate all night long!

Here is Penny playing with her captured green toy and Pupcake at a loss for getting it back. Pupcake will frequently sit down and stare at Penny and whine to me about her inability to go in and get it back from Penny.

Poor Pupcake!!

"Please let me have it back!! Please?"

"Why aren't you helping me?"

This is just for size comparison.

National Puppy Day!

Yes, it's true! Apparently today is National Puppy Day. I'm going to celebrate by buying more dog food and some special dog treats!

You can celebrate by letting us know you are interested in one of our puppies! We expect to have 6 available around the end of June. (Expected birthdate April 28)

Let us know if you would like more info.

Remember: Celebrate responsibly - designate a dog walker up front!

Puppies Are Coming!!

We took Lilly in for an ultrasound today and saw 6 little puppies staring back at us. Well, more figuratively than actually looking. The puppies are less than an inch in size right now and they are due around the end of April.

Lilly handled the process beautifully. As she lay on her back for the ultrasound, she casually turned her head as if to look at the screen. Both the vet and the technician laughed at how "human" Lilly looked.

Here's a picture of Lily on her way back home. Very relaxed!

March Update!

As of March 1st, all of our guardian dogs are placed. We are considering adding a male poodle to our "flock," so let me know if you would possibly be interested in housing a non-neutered male poodle.

We are hopeful of having a new litter of puppies near the end of April. They will be the puppies of Lilly (an English Cream Retriever) and Bailey (a standard poodle).

We estimate the size of the grown puppies to be approximately 50 pounds. If everything turns out as we hope, they will be ready to go home near the end of June.

Stay tuned!!

Mint Girl Has Been Adopted!

Yes, a wonderful family adopted mint ribbon girl last night. They plan to raise her and train her to be a therapy dog. What a great thing to do!

We have Purple ribbon girl remaining and she is going to leave a hole for me when she goes to her new home. I have loved playing with her in our yard. She runs right into my arms and jumps into my lap... She's adorable.

If you are someone who will love and enjoy Purple girl as much as I do, please give me a call or send me an email. We'll set up a time for you to meet her.

Purple girl is on the left in the picture below.

Saving the Best for Last

People frequently ask, "Why are these puppies the last ones?" This usually means they are asking, "What's wrong with these puppies?"

What we find is that some people ONLY want a boy, or ONLY want a girl. They don't even want to consider the other option.

That is what happened this time. We started with 3 boys and 3 girls. The first people who came to look at them ONLY wanted boys - so they were all adopted first.

When it gets down to choosing one of 3 girls, it comes down to what characteristics you are looking for, and often whether the puppy bonds with you first, or if they find something that distracts them.

All that to say these are the last two puppies from this litter. We have Mint Ribbon Girl who has always been my wife's favorite and Purple Girl who is just full of spunk and fun.

Here is my daughter holding Mint Girl:

Vet Visit Day!!

The puppies are getting close to going home to their permanent homes! That means it's time to get a check up at the vet. All the puppies have been dewormed and had two rounds of vaccines and the vet says they are all healthy and strong,

It's always fun to take our puppies into the vet; everyone falls in love with them so fast and all of the staff are taking pictures to send to spouses and friends. It's a fun time.

We use the most friendly vet we know. Williamston Animal Clinic just treats us so well - whether it is with the puppies, or with our family dog. It's a great practice.

Stella's Puppies - 7 Weeks Old

We are getting to the end... Stella's puppies will be ready to go to their forever homes next weekend. Tomorrow is their vet check-up day (I'll post pictures of that, too!)

We have three girl puppies available; the boys were adopted first this time around.

The girls are soft and cuddly and very adorable (Especially "mint girl). Contact us with the info above if you would like more information or to see one "up close and personal."

"Aunt" Pupcake

Our family dog is Pupcake. She is a wonderful doodle we selected from one of our litters about 4 years ago.

Her dad is the same dad as these puppies of Stella so technically she is a half sister, or something like that, but we call her "Aunt Pupcake".

Pupcake takes it upon herself to play with our puppies and to teach them the way to endear themselves into their humans' hearts.

Here she is in a seminar with the puppies:

She also loves to play:

She's an awesome Aunt and we love having her!!
