Here They Are! (7/25/24)

Finally! Here is photographic evidence of their continuing cuteness. The puppies turn 3 weeks old today and they are all standing on their own legs and they can finally see out of their eyes. Everything is normal and good - and cute.

Since Biscuit is only happy if I hold the puppies, versus setting them on a chair or table for poses, I did the only thing I could think of - I sat down on the floor in their puppy room and held the puppies on my lap as I snapped away with pictures. (Some turned out better than others...)

I'll include their collar color (randomly assigned) as well as their "patriotic name", since they were born overnight on July 4th/5th.

Puppy Update (7/16/24)

As expected, the puppies are getting bigger. For the first 1-2 weeks, we always measure the puppies weights at least once daily. Biscuit is a great momma-dog and she has been making sure every one of her puppies is getting the food they need. 

Also, for at least the first week, the puppies have a heating pad in their bedroom. Even though we monitor the room temperature carefully, new-born puppies need to be warm and cozy - even if momma needs to take a break. You'll see one of our heating pads in some of the pictures below. (yes, we clean it regularly, and make sure they don't nibble on it, etc.)

REMINDER: We have 7 puppies (4 boys and 3 girls) who are F1B mini-goldendoodles. Based upon past litters with the same mom and dad, these puppies will grow to about 20 pounds, and will tend to have somewhat curly hair. They shouldn't shed any more than a normal human would, and most people feel they are less likely to cause allergy issues.

The puppies will be ready for their new homes just before Labor Day and they will be fully up to date on their vaccines and such, as well as micro-chipped.

Patriotic Puppy Piles! (7/7/24)

Here they are! Biscuit delivered her puppies in the early morning hours of July 5th. I think one or two of them were actually born on the 4th, but my eyes were blurry and it's easier to say the 5th.

Biscuit delivered 7 healthy puppies - 4 boys and 3 girls. All of the puppies are growing and they and mom are all strong and healthy.At this age (3 days), they all look remarkably alike, and that is normal. In the next few days and weeks, we'll start to see more differences emerge. It's a fun age.

In the spirit of the Fourth of July and US Independence Day, we have tentatively named the puppies after famous people from "back in the day."
