I try to keep the news on this site upbeat and positive – it’s usually easy to do when we’re talking about puppies!
Unfortunately, we had a tragic incident occur this week. For the first time in our 10-year history of raising Cute Goldendoodles, we discovered one of the puppies (a girl) in this current litter had died.
It was a very sad discovery! (My daughter took it the hardest, I think.)
We don’t know exactly how it happened. It seems likely that Harlow (mom) either accidentally stepped on the puppy in a harmful way (45-pound mom; 8-ounce puppy), or that she accidentally smothered the puppy while they slept. We just don’t know.
All the puppies appear healthy, have been actively nursing and squirming - which is about all they do (other than sleep), and there are, and were, no abnormal signs. We regularly weigh the puppies, and they are all gaining weight normally. We continue to follow our regular protocols of monitoring the puppies and
It was a truly sad discovery… That means we have 4 girls available for adoption. Our only boy, "Marvin," has been reserved.
