UPDATE 3/31: Pictures of Miss Purple have been added.
Today is the third (week) birthday of the puppies! To celebrate, we took pictures and tried to make them smile for the camera. As usual, my optimism and exuberance, was quickly met with blurry photos, dark shadows, and unusable pictures. So you'll have to trust me when I say that the pictures below ARE the cream of the crop.
At three weeks of age, most of the puppies have their eyes just opening and are just barely able to walk on their legs. The next few weeks will be indescribable in their growth and maturity of both appearance and personality.
Our group has 5 girls and 4 boys. If your eye is sharp, and your math skills are better than mine, you will see we have pictures of just 4 girls and 4 boys... hmmmm. Well, Miss Purple will be getting a solo photo shoot soon. My wife, truly the brains of our outfit, mentioned quite soothingly, "You know, if you simply used a checklist - like I've suggested for years - you wouldn't miss a puppy so frequently." I love my wife!!
On to the details and the pictures. Mom, Piper, is a mini/small F1 Goldendoodle. She weighs about 35 pounds. Dad, Toby, is an AKC miniature poodle and weighs about 14 pounds.

The puppies will continue to grow and mature, and that means even better pictures will be coming soon. Once the puppies are 5 weeks old, I will contact the people who have made reservations and have them over to play with the puppies and select which one they would like to adopt. As of today, 3/29/2022, we have three girls and 2 boys reserved. That leaves 2 boys and 2 girls available for adoption. They will be ready to go to their new homes in early May.
Their temporary names are based upon the color of their randomly chosen collar. (Sorry, there is no secret code)
They each weigh about 2 pounds right now. First up....
Mr. Teal:
I kept this picture because it does a good job of showing his color
His eyes are open as much as mine are before coffee
It looks like he needs a nap
Mr. Green:
His eyes are a little more open. Almost full
His coat is a bit curlier, and maybe lighter
His mommy is standing right there, keeping an eye on things
Mr. Black:
Little quiet guy. He definitely wanted to sleep
Snuggling right into this little corner
If you click on the picture you can zoom in and see he has wisps of white on his arms and head
Mr. Yellow:
As "the kids" say, "He's kinda chonky." The kids would also know whether that was good or bad.
Miss Orange:
She's on the smaller side of the litter in size, but she has a beautiful deep coat
How can you not love a puppy with her arms crossed?
...and hair that sticks up in back...
Miss Blue: |
All she wanted to do was crawl away and continue napping!
Very pretty coloring
Miss Red:
Also a bit smaller than most, but she'll catch up soon
More wispy white hair
I'm running out of cute synonyms
Miss Gray: (Or is it "grey," or even "silver")
A fluffy chunk of furry cuteness
She didn't want to move. She just sat there and looked around
Adorable |
