Puppies Are Growing! (7/16)

There are very few "certainties" with puppies that are less than a week old.

One is that they want to always (ALWAYS) be in a huddle with their siblings. If something "happens" and they get separated (i.e. one of them rolls off the pile) they always whine and complain and do everything they can to get back to the pile - unless they roll onto a heating pad, and then they just fall asleep again.

(Red and Orange are girls. The remaining 5 are boys)

The other certainty, is that they HATE (HATE! HATE! HATE!) being weighed. Yes, I daily torture them by gently picking them up and placing them onto the scale and then placing them back onto the puppy pile.

The whole process takes about 15 seconds, but they scream and whine - which makes Penny (mom) upset and she whines and tries to get them off the scale - which messes up the weight, and on and on.

Unfortunately, it can't be helped. I have to know that they are growing and thriving. All of the puppies in this litter are doing their "growing-thing", so everyone is happy - except when they are being weighed...

Guess where the other heating pad is??
